Bet wet, or try dry: Guess S.D.'s rain

UNION-TRIBUNE

September 25, 2008

Will the winter be wet, or will our days stay dry?

We're looking for San Diego's finest precipitation predictor. Tell us how much rain you think will fall at Lindbergh Field, San Diego's official weather station, in 2008-09. The season runs from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009.

Send your guess to rob.krier@uniontrib.com. Or mail your entry to Robert Krier, Precipitation Prediction Contest, The San Diego Union-Tribune, P.O. Box 120191, San Diego, CA 92112-0191.

E-mailed entries must be received by tomorrow, and mailed entries must be postmarked no later than Sept. 26. In case of a tie, please also state the calendar day that you think will be the wettest.

The winner gets a rain gauge. The average annual rainfall in San Diego is 10.77 inches. So far this season, no measurable rain has been recorded.
